Union Minister Prahlad Patel inaugurates Art and Literature fest 'Vishwarang-2021'

 ‘Vishwarang 2021’ - the biggest fest of art and literature of Central India began today on November 25. The commencement of third edition of this festival was held amid pomp and show with a ‘Yatra’ (procession) at Rabindranath Tagore University (RNTU), Bhopal. Union Minister Mr Prahlad Patel inaugurated the programme by lighting the earthen lamp in the presence of Chancellor of RNTU and Director General of Vishwarang Santosh Chaubey and Vishwarang Director Aditi Vats. Minister Prahlad Patel also launched the website of ‘Vishwarang’ and unveiled the idol of Rabindranath Tagore on the occasion. sThe famous patriotic song written by Rabindranath Tagore ‘Ekla Cholo Re’ was also performed in the inaugural ceremony.

The literature and art fest Vishwarang is now touching international heights and is being concurrently organised in 26 countries. Owing to the anticipated third wave of Covid-19 pandemic, some sessions of the fest will be held virtually.

Addressing the inaugural ceremony, Honorable Minister Prahlad Patel said that the event ‘Vishwarang’ is being organised on the lines of its name. It is because of this unique programme, that the art, culture and literature of India is spreading across many countries. The minister added, “I hope that our art and culture reaches the every corner of the world. I extend many congratulations and best wishes to the Vishwarang family.”

Eminent celebrities related to field of art and culture will take part in this festival. This is one-of-its-kind opportunity for people, who love art and literature, to witness experts of different arts performing live.

The beginning of ‘Vishwarang-2021’ was an enthusiastic and exciting one with such colourful performances, giving the audience a lifetime experience. Power-packed performances of popular artists like Twin Strings Band and Mame Khan will be seen in the coming days of ‘Vishwarang-2021’ that will continue till November 28.

Following the inaugural session, several dance and musical performances were held on Rabindra songs, those written by Rabindranath Tagore. Tanushree Shankar’s Ballet Dance Troupe gave a captivating performance, winning hearts of the audience. After the dance performance, Indian classical musician Padma Shri Ustad Rashid Khan enthralled the audience with his melodious voice. Rashid Khan has rendered Rabindra songs earlier as well.

Story Telling and Children drama

In the first session on screenplay writing and   storytelling for children, renowned screenplay writer Sanjay Chouhan interacted with young minds.  Sanjay has written many critically acclaimed films like 'I am Kalam', Pan Singh Tomar and Hazaron Khwaishein Aisi. For children to develop a forte in creative writing, Sanjay advised them to read a lot, travel and meet as much people as they can. He mentioned the importance of goal setting to become successful, and also praised the new generation of kids for being smart and future oriented.

Ballet dance holds audience spellbound

The inaugural session was followed by the captivating performance of Tanushree Shankar Ballet Dance group. Ballet performance was held in two parts.  The first part of the performance was gave the message of environmental awareness and compassion towards animals. A glimpse of 'Man Mayuri' and 'Shiv Tandav' in the performance, left the audience spellbound. In the second part, Tanushree Ballet presented a spectacular dance performance Rabindranath Tagore's first and only English poem, 'The Child'. The poem was in the voice of Victor Bannerjee.

AISECT community radio takes people’s reactions

The community radio of university, ‘Yuva’s Youth Ki Aawaaz’ also took part in Vishwarang literature and art fest. They asked the people what effect ‘Vishwarang’ posed upon them. To listen the community radio, one can download AISECT Radio application from play store.
